Differential rear seal leak

I have approximately 1750 miles on my Solstice and was lucky enough to have it in the dealer, who discovered a leak in my differential seal. Just in case this could happen to anyone else, please keep an eye on any possible leaks on the ground.

I would be curious to know if this was an isolated incident....

I am going to ask my dealer about it when I receive my car. Should be within the next week.

I had heard that a lot of Solstices are having this problem. I haven't noticed anything myself... but as I understand it, a strange oil burning smell is usually the prelude to this. Sometimes the oil leaks from some valve that allows the extra fluid to drain from the rear end (I guess some were filled too high??).

There have been no service bulletins listed in regards to this problem.
Have had no problem with mine, but am keeping a look out.

The best place for info would be your dealer. I have family members in the auto industry, so I have access to all service bulletins on all makes of vehicles. I will find out on any and post any when I can.
