http://fastlane.gmblogs.com/archives...e_of.html#more

in this gm Blog it says from lutz, that it'll be about $20k American. and have 177hp with a heated glass rear window,cd system, 2.5 L 4Cylinder and 18 inch wheels.

I guess we finally know the price. Solstice is a true driverís car, and it will be in Pontiac showrooms this summer. yay !

Just talked to Pontiac Marketing Support, who says they can only report that production may be scheduled for May in Wilmington DE with cars being available fall '05 (now that's a bummer!). They won't say distribution will be any sooner. They won't say when dealer orders can be placed - just said to check with the dealer. When I ordered my two pt cruisers in advance of production, chrysler gave out much more info in advance. You can call Pontiac Marketing Support at 800-276-6842. Remind them that although we want it built right the first time, half the country would like the car introduced when we have our summertime weather - TR6

I have seen a couple people who work at dealers report that production is scheduled to begin May 16, with GM processing orders sometime in late April. Therefore, dealers should be able to submit orders sometime before then in early to mid April. One dealer reported it would be late March for orders, but most seem to think it will be into April.

Word from one dealer to a customer was they have received package for early order beginning April 15, for 1000 cars, limit 5 per dealer and that the first 5 at each dealer cannot be sold over MSRP Only problem with this is there area about 2800 Pontiac dealers and that means not every dealer will even have cahnce to get one of 1000 early production which are supposed to have badges and maybe extra stuff.

Seems to be possible tie-in to first national 30 sec tv spot apparently during 'The Apprentice' on 4/14.

Here how the program is set to work
Dealers have to sign up for the program
There will be 1000 special marked solstice. Dealer have the chance no guaranteed on getting any but can get up to 5. Can not be sold for over MSRP. Early ordering will start 15Apr05 following a special announcement on Thursday night the 14th on the Apprentice. As I said "NO" dealer is promised these first 1000. When you put in for the early order it must be a solid commitment.
