We are here to inform you of something you already know: that your time here on this planet will eventually come to an end. We know that you are aware of this, but maybe you haven’t really thought about it. Think about it: a day when you no longer surf the web, you no longer hear the news, you no longer eat and drink, you no longer kiss your loved ones, a day when you’re no longer alive. Even if you avoid thinking about it you can’t prevent it. And since you can’t prevent it, what will you do when that day comes? Our intent is to help you discover what you can do before that day, and what to expect on that day :) We want to see you experience the love and glory of God and Jesus Christ on that day, not the pain and agony of hell and its keeper. Every human being that has ever walked this planet needs Jesus. Since you are a human being, this message is for you.
God, the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob to be exact (the one and only true God), made man in His image and likeness. Soon after He made man He made one rule: "You are free to eat from any tree in the garden; but you must not eat from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, for when you eat of it you will surely die (Genesis 2:16-17)." Mind you this man (and his wife) were in paradise. They had the run of the place, and only had one rule to govern their lives. Well, long story short, she ate the fruit then tempted him into doing the same thing. Thus sin and death were born into the world, and unfortunately still exist today. You’ve probably heard this story as a child, but not all stories are fairy tales. Sin is the transgression of the Law: that is breaking God's rules, knowing to do good but not doing it, anything that is not of faith, not trusting in God, all unrighteousness, wickedness - sin is a disease of the soul (the inner part of man that lives forever), and we foolishly think we can ignore God and live a life without accountability before Him. However, God foresaw this transgression before it even happened, and created a plan to restore man to his original state of bliss. This plan is Jesus Christ, and this sacrificial plan will be talked about further below. If you're still with us, we are only here to help. We were stuck in our sins. Addicted to drugs, porn and professing a lifestyle that is displeasing to God. Many of you who read this could probably raise your hand as well. Even then we thought we were okay with God. Boy were we wrong. Then He showed us the way out.
You've probably heard of this sacrificial plan, maybe you’re even quite familiar with it. My question is, do you really know Jesus, or why He came to the earth? We know there is a lot of controversy over His purpose of coming here and desiring to be a part of our lives, and it is our sincere wish for you to come to know Him from the best source you can, Jesus Himself.
Jesus was sent to the earth by God for one purpose, to serve as an innocent sacrifice for all of mankind, and this is the cornerstone of God’s plan to bring man to his original state of bliss. Through His blood you are made whole, and through a relationship with Him you can know God personally. Pretty bold statements right? Come to Jesus and you can break free of addictions, grow as a person, and learn of unspeakable joy.
That sounds great and undeniably enticing, and rightfully so, but you must be aware that there is a less popular alternative. If you don't come to Jesus and you die in your sin, you will face God and be judged guilty of breaking His laws, and you will be sentenced to an eternity in the lake of fire. Coming to Jesus isn't about making your life better (that is something you must work for yourself with Jesus there to guide you). You will still experience persecution. I know persecution doesn't sound fun, but as Jesus put it "Do not be afraid of those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul. Rather, be afraid of the One who can destroy both soul and body in hell." What do people matter in the end? No matter what they say or do to you it won't matter with God on your side. This life is only temporary, yet you still have to choose to obey God. You have to accept Jesus' blood for your sins and surrender all your possessions, ambitions, desires, dreams, hopes, sorrows, joys and faith to Him. But, it is better for man to be hated for living the truth than to be hated for living a lie. Ultimately, being a Christian is about giving up that sinful life that will lead you only to the lake of fire, and accept the gift God is giving all of us - eternal life with Him.
Now, many people think that all religions lead to God. Jesus said that He was the only way to the Father; that the road to hell was broad and many traveled on it, but the road to everlasting life was narrow and few found it. Some think that God is too loving to punish them that severely, yet He said, "Consider therefore the kindness and sternness of God". Everyone needs to keep in mind these two natures of God: 1.) He is good, but 2.) He will judge sin.
Some people might think they are good enough to get into heaven by their own merit or works, yet God says "No one is good—except God alone" and "knowing that a man is not justified by the works of the law but by faith in Jesus Christ, even we have believed in Christ Jesus, that we might be justified by faith in Christ and not by the works of the law; for by the works of the law no flesh shall be justified" and "For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast" and "For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give His life a ransom for many." Also, "For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life." Jesus said that to see the kingdom of heaven you need to be born of the Spirit, which is done through repentance (total turning away from your sins, renouncing and forsaking them) and putting your faith fully in Christ. That is why the gospel of Christ is called the good news. He came and freely died for us to gain life.
We’re mighty glad you’ve read this far. If you don't mind we’d like to give you a quiz. You don't have to reply with answers or anything; it’s just something we’d like for you to think over, so be honest with yourself (it could mean the difference between eternal fire and the grace of God found in Christ)
Lets go over those 10 commandments and see just how obedient people are.
1. Have you kept God as your number 1 priority over any and all things? (keeping Him first in your heart)
2. Have you ever established an idol? (whether it be an object, or an imagined god to suit your behaviors, etc)
3. Have you ever used the Lord's name as a curse? (called blasphemy, includes saying Jesus and Christ as a curse)
4. Have you kept the Sabbath Holy?
5. Have you always honored your mother and father? (no back talking or anything like that?)
6. Have you ever killed someone? (Jesus said to hate someone is the same as killing them in God's eyes)
7. Ever committed adultery? (Jesus said to look upon someone in lust was to commit the act)
8. Ever stolen anything? (no matter what the value was)
9. Ever lied (even little white lies?)
10. Ever coveted something someone else had? (were jealous of and wanted what belonged to someone else)
Those are the basic standards God will judge you by, and even the smallest violation of any of those at any time in your life will be a death sentence and the Bible is crystal clear on this: breaking just one of these commandments is like breaking them all. We've all broken at least 2 of them in our youth. Since you know it is wrong (from your conscience), what excuse can you give to the One who sees your every thought and knows you heart? Outside of Christ there is no hope. He alone is salvation. We can’t prove it by the standards of science, but we know it’s true, and we know that deep down in your heart you believe it as well. It is our sincere prayer that you come to know Christ, and that His light will shine upon you as it has shined upon us. Then we can talk about it for ages in Heaven, where we will be with the King of Kings: Jesus Christ, the Eternal One, the Living Example of Love. If you want to accept Jesus as the Lord of your life and turn form your sins, all you need to do is pray to God (will post sample prayer, but we highly recommend letting it come from your heart) and He will lead you where you need to go.
Dear Heavenly Father, in Jesus’ name I confess to You that I have sinned against You and You alone. It was never my desire to break your commands, or cause you any grief. I confess to you all my sins (do so) and ask you to wash me clean in the blood of Jesus. I want Jesus to be the Lord of my life, to make me a new creature in Him, free from that sinful nature and born of the Spirit. I put all my faith in you dear Father and I thank you for loving me so much that you sent your Son to die in my place. I am yours, lead me where you will. I ask for your forgiveness Father, and thank you for doing so. In the Name of Jesus, Amen.
We now recommend you get a Bible and start reading (not all at once, pace yourself, pray as you read, spend time in His word. We suggest starting at the book of John, one of the Gospels found in the New Testament). Keep your eyes out for a good Spirit filled church to get fed the Word from, and to get to know other people He has set free. Welcome to the family of God :-)
No matter how much and for how long you have sinned and fallen, God is always there with His arms wide open to receive you. As we wrote this He knew that you would be reading it, and that it would make a difference in your life. No one is beyond repentance because all of us have been given the free will to repent, and to ask God for forgiveness and to live a Godly life.
That’s also something you must know about the nature of the Bible: the Bible will always be a mystery. It can only be better understood under the guidance of the Holy Spirit and it doesn’t matter if you don’t understand some of the things you read, for in due time you will. It’s a “living book”, your Heavenly guide until your last day on earth.
This message has been brought to you by a group of people who desire to see as many people as possible find salvation by using forums on the internet to spread the news of that precious gift.
To further aid you in pursuing Christ, we have created a MySpace site in which you can find helpful verses, blogs, and even interesting and exciting things such as 9/11 being foretold in the verses of the Bible! We encourage you to visit myspace.com/witnessing4him
God bless you!
