Just to let you know that having driven Serenity for six months, and a great six months of driving pleasure I might add, and having 1 month seat time in Mayhem, I can with all honesty say that there is no comparision of the two.
While Serenity(base SKY) is a real pleasure and exciting to drive, it has a problem backing up it fast looks. Mayhem has taken Kappa roadsters to a higher plateau, and can back up sleek, fast look with mind blowing performance.
Car's that used to outperform me, have now taken to reding her rear license plates. This car can hold it's own with some so called heavy hitter's from Japan for sure. I have spanked a few TT's. Crossfire's, and few unnamed vehicles as I really didn't know what they were. My favorite entertainment it the numerous rice burner/oil can muffler Honda's that are so common on the road. I follow along side of them while they work out there gears, and just when they are thinking they are gonna take me, I just stomp down on the pedal, watch the boost gauge rise and see them grow smaller in the rear view mirror:D
This car is a total blast, and performance is over the edge in my opinion.
You cannot honestly compare the SKY to the SKY R/L, other than they are both SKY's, that's all. The refinements, tweaks and all the other goodies not on the base put's the R/L in it's own class with the GXP, which I know is equally impressive as they are the same under the skin.
The excitement comes from the push back in the seat performance. I can cruise at 80 at zero boost, stepdown on her and in a blink of an eye be over 120. My highest speed to date has been 145 mph at 4700 rpm with 18 pounds boost. The dynamics of this vehicle at taht speed is nothing but smooth, total control and excellent downforce. I plan to push her all the way out but have not had enough straightaway. She feels like she could peg the speedo at 160, but was told there is a fuel cutoff at 150, anybody know if this is true?
In conclusion I guess I am trying to say that Turbo Kappa's are awesome, and
are definitely the way to go. The torque tube, stabilitrack and traction control, and of course the suspension upgrade they come with all mix together to be described in one word, WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Thanks for letting me ramble, I just wanted to give my evaluation and insight on the two. I have seen the light and it reads TURBO.
