For family-types pining for Pontiac’s Solstice but put off by a complete lack of trunk space, EDAG Engineering Design AG have something in a shooting brake they’d like to show you. Said to be inspired by the Pontiac Safari wagons of the 1950s and 1960s, we think EDAG's Solstice estate reminds us of the dearly-departed BMW M Coupe crossed with an old modular Nissan Pulsar NX or Geo Storm wagon (remember?).

Set to debut next week in Detroit, the concept retains the Solstice’s wind-in-your-coif capability, while sporting a new look and offering a modest increase in stowage space. It also might provide a little comfort for those hoping to see the promised (but now nixed) Kappa-platform Chevy Nomad.
