Interesting news at GMI.com (gminsidenews.com) about the Chevy Nomad.

Supposedly it was given the preliminary green light, and there is some info about other potential models. Not much after that, but it is good news for Solstice/Kappa fans.

And if the Nomad comes out with the more powerful ecotec (~240 hp) that is a good omen for a more powerful Solstice, I figure that the parts would be basically interchangeable. :bouncy:

I guess that was a lil' bit premature, GM is saying that theres ]"NO"[/I] firm commitment to build it, as of today.

yeah I just read that GM press release too.....but the Nomad rumor sparked alot of debate on the GMI forums about these cars.

I am surprised by how many American car buyers want ONLY V8 engines and nothing else will satisfy them. If it ain't nascar it ain't good enough for them i suppose.

I really hope GM sticks to the ecotec in this range of small vehicles. Save the V8's for large sedans, trucks and corvettes.

I dont mind the new nomad...210hp turbo 4 isn't so bad...

I wouldn't buy it...not my style.

I've found americans can only drive straight=1/4 mile...and nascar = Left. :D and somebody will put a 5.0 L V8 in it ! someway ! someHOW !!! :banasex0r
