Okay, so i have been on a crusade of late to find out if the Solstice will be coming to Canada. I did research for a few days trying to locate email addresses of ALL of the big cheeses, executives et al at GM. I found about 7-8 email addresses and figured that I could fudge the others, I mean how many Robert A. Lutzes are there in GM anyways?

Bad news was that 5 of my emails didnt go through, even the guess-timated Bob Lutz address didn't work.....HOWEVER......My email did get through to Mr. Stew Low Director of Public Relations, GM of Canada (no kidding!!!)

Here's his first email:

From: stew.low@gm.com

Re: Solstice Question (please read)

I will get confirmation to you today. I am sure it will be sold in Canada,
but want to double check.

THEN he sent me a second email:

Yah ! Nice job squirrel !

Now All i gotta hope is that it's SC and not TC ... I like my super charging

I wonder what colours it will come in ? anybody know ? I also want a hardtop for it. Cause it rains too much in vancouver. :muncher:

Don't hold your breath on the hard top idea, unless you want to buy a chevy nomad 4-5 years from now. I wouldnt be surprised if GM diversifies the Kappa "architecture" as they call it and offer different size models starting with the Nomad.

I would prefer a hard top too, but I can "suffer" with a convertable. ;)

My main concern now is colour choices and wether I should wait a few months for a SC/TC option or just buy it ASAP. The press release stories always mention a price range, as if they will offer a stripper version, and a pricier model, perhaps the latter will have our beloved SC (or TC) and ~240 hp please please please!

Hey at least I get to buy one. The GM guy was really nice in email tag, he even wanted me to email him a picture of me with my car after I buy my Solstice. :)

Well there may not be a factory option hard top but there should be aftermarket options. Im sure if GM does not offer one then someone like www.smoothline.com will make them. Ive got a hard top from them for my Fiat and it works great!

As far as getting a hardtop whether it's made by GM/Pontaic or not i could care less. the S2000 and audi TT and Miata have them...so the Solstice will at some point.

Now all i have to do is wait...way...too ... long.... I'm gonna drive a 2005 new mustang in the fall and see what it's like. I like the new late 60's look of the thing. :bouncy:
