AutoWeek magazine has a cover story on the Solstice in this week's issue. The bulk of the article describes how the low-volume Solstice got built and approved for production in such a short period.
There is not that much new information, but a few things I found interesting:
mentions both "mid-2005" and Fall 2005 as on-sale dates
base price of $19,995 (does not say "estimated", but I seriously doubt it's finalized yet)
curb weight of 2860 lbs. (probably estimated)
manufacturer's estimated 0-60 time of 7.2 seconds
no mention of approval of a more powerful engine, although it does make it clear they think a turbo or supercharged version of the Ecotec will eventually be available
they say GM's projected volume of 10,000-30,000 units a year may be a "lowball" estimate
AutoWeek's a cheap weekly mag, so if you like the Solstice you might want to grab a copy (lots of pictures, too, although they're available elsewhere).
If not, the bulk of the article will probably be posted at autoweek.com in the next few days.
