Interior doesn't cut it...perfectly smooth leather in a sports car doesn't even come close!! I've owned everything sports car wise from Aston-Martins, Ferrari's, down to Miatas...if the seat leather is smooth you slide all over on each and every corner you take..Also note that the side bolsters are "wimpy", you need some good supporting side bolsters in a sports car seat...it looks cheap, bland, and should go into the trash can. Let's see some REAL sports car seats, perhaps a trip to the Recaro factory by those interior designers would perhaps make a difference. I've never seen a sports car with such "cheap" looking seats...c'mon Pontiac, get a head on it....back to the drawing board, maybe at least suede inserts if no pleats or vented hide..what a joke...they must think the purist sports car buyer will stand for this? Not in a million years...maybe an old Fiero owner might, but not anyone who has driven his sports car with enthusiam around corners...or anyone driving the "other" sports car...

I agree with you that the form of the seats could be better. But why bother with leather seats at all? Hot, sunny days are when roadsters shine. Top down all the way. Hot, sunny days are also shorts days. Haven't you ever burned the backs of your thighs sliding into a car on hot, sunny days?

I hope they have better contours to their seats, but I also hope they have a cloth option. If I'm stuck with leather, I'll rip it out and re-upholster.

Looks good to me, a simple, clean design. High points for me are what appear to be audio controls on the steering wheel (although it may just be cruise control), and standard DIN-looking holes for the audio. I don't want to have to buy some oddly-shaped trim piece to install an aftermarket stereo. Actually it looks like it may be a single DIN slot below a 1.5 DIN slot, but it's hard to tell. I also like the passenger side grab handle, nicely integrated. I'll reserve judgement on the seats until I've had a chance to sit in them, especially since I'm inclined towards cloth.

The quality and pattern of cloth has EVERYTHING to do with it. Should GM use the same quality cloth as in say a Miata, it would "hold" the driver in the seat better around cornere. Corners are what sports cars search for, and show off the muscle. Without great seats, a sports car is not as much fun to drive. Seats are priority one for the interior of any sports car. You have to be comfortable to toss the car around the way it was meant to be. Like I said in a privious post, one trip to the Recaro factory and they would KNOW how to upholster the seats in the new Solstice....
