Interesting BusinessWeek article on hydroforming (http://www.businessweekasia.com/magazine/content/02_45/b3807117.htm)
According to this article, hydroforming is actually a cheaper method to form the chassis frame/sheet metal than traditional tool and die processes. Which is why it strange that Bob Lutz said that production would have to be capped at 20K/yr because of the high costs of hydroforming...
