I haven't seen any lines that would indicate a traditional hood. Will the Solstice have a clam shell hood like the old Viper's?

Yes! That's a feature I really like.

I have been in love with this car from the first time I saw it in 92. Then I forgot about it for a while figuring it would never be produced. Now I have become obsessed with it again upon hearing that it should be ready as an 05 model. Then I saw the picture above with the clam shell hood and I like this car even more (if that's possible). I can't wait to get inside one. I also want more pictures. Where did the above picture come from?

I got it from www.autoexpress.com Unfortunately that's the only one I've seen with the hood open. There are some other nice shots of the solstice at the site, but navigation is difficult (it seems to show you a few pages for free, then wants you to register to continue).

I read somewhere that it won't have the clam shell hood, and there will be a single passenger-side sidepipe rather than the dual pipes out the back. Anybody else hear that?

The spy photo:

seems to confirm the single sidepipe, but it looks like that variation still has the clam shell hood.

It would be very intresting if they did use the clam shell. But I am not sure how practical it would be :).
